A. Ruth Taylor

Mrs. A. Ruth (Winchell) Taylor, of Bradenton, Florida, formerly of Malden, died Monday, October 8, 2007 in Bradenton, Florida. She was 97 and lived most of her life in Malden before moving to Florida in 2002. Mrs. Taylor graduated from Malden High School in 1929. She was a member of the Mystic Side Congregational Church in Everett where she was a Deaconess and certified student minister supervisor. Mrs. Taylor was the past State President of the Ladies of the Grand Army of the Republic, a member of the Malden Jaunters, and the past President of the Heritage Women. She was a 25 year volunteer at the Dexter House Nursing Home in Malden. Mrs. Taylor was the wife of the late Thomas Russell Taylor, the daughter of the late Louis E. and Hattie M. (West) Winchell, and the sister of the late Louis E. Winchell, Jr., Lawrence E. Winchell, Louise McCarthy, and Harriett Miller. She is survived by her children, Donald R. Taylor of Amesbury and Constance Dey of Bailey's Bay, Bermuda; her brother, Richard A. Winchell of Malden; three grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services are private. Memorials may be made to the Mystic Side Congregational Church, c/o Allen Carman, 428 Salem St., #1, Malden, MA 02148.
