Mrs. Adeline J. (Mariano) Romano, of Wellesley, formerly of Waltham, died Tuesday, September 12, 2006 in the Newton-Wellesley Alzheimer Center in Wellesley. She was 84. Born and raised in Dedham, Mrs. Romano had lived in Waltham for many years. She was a telephone operator for New England Telephone Company until her retirement. Mrs. Romano was a parishioner of Our Lady's Church in Waltham and an avid Red Sox fan. Mrs. Romano was the wife of the late Anthony Romano, the daughter of the late Francesco and Amalia (DiPasqua) Mariano, and the sister of the late Frederick, Gerald, Angelo, Sue, and Rose Mariano and Carmella Conare. She is survived by her sons, Christopher A. Romano of Norfolk, Anthony Romano, Jr. of Lewisville, Texas, and Alan J. Romano of North Andover; her sisters, Angelina Petrozzi of Walpole and Florence Edwards of North Carolina; seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Her Funeral Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. Friday in Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham. Visitation will be held prior to the Funeral Mass on Friday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham.
