Waltham – Mrs. Adina M. (Rich) Silva, of Waltham, died Saturday, December 24, 2011 at Emerson Village Nursing Home in Watertown. She 80.
Adina was born in Boston on May 7, 1931, a daughter of the late William J. and Anne (Wright) Rich, and had lived in Waltham since 1957. She was raised in Boston and in Brookline and was a graduate of Our Lady of the Presentation High School in Brighton. Adina was also a longtime member of Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Parish Sodality in Waltham.
She leaves her husband, John J. Silva; her children, John J. Silva and his wife, Susan, of Houston, Texas, Paul W. Silva and his wife, Angela, of Lynn, Mark R. Silva and his companion, Christine Dixon, of Scituate, Margaret M. MacKenzie and her husband, Gregg, of Waltham and Robert M. Silva of Yarmouth and her grandchildren, Lauren, Rachel, Ryan, Melissa and Michael.
Family and friends will honor and remember Adina's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Wednesday, December 28th, from 5 to 8 p.m. and again at 10 a.m. on Thursday morning in Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham when her Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Burial will be private.
