Adolphe L. Thibodeau

Framingham – Mr. Adolphe Louis Thibodeau, of Framingham, formerly of Waltham, died Saturday, October 9, 2016 in Oak Knoll Healthcare Center in Framingham. He was 97.

Adolphe was born on May 9, 1919 in Church Point, Nova Scotia, a son of the late Dennis and Josephine Thibodeau. He attended St. Anne's University and served in the Canadian Army during World War II. He married Lucille M. Belliveau on December 28, 1948 in Church Point and shortly thereafter moved to the United States where the pair made their home in Waltham. He was a carpenter by trade and was employed by the Little Sisters of the Poor in Somerville before his retirement.

Some of his favorite pastimes were watching sports, playing bridge and spending summer months at his home in Church Point. Mostly he was happiest when he was surrounded by his family.

Besides his wife of 67 years, Lucille, he is survived by his children, Annice M. Cusano and her husband Kenneth of Framingham and Eric J. Thibodeau and his wife, Patricia, of Nashua, New Hampshire; his grandchildren, Derek Cusano, Adam Cusano and his wife, Janine, Nicole Goldstein and her husband, Ethan, Alex Thibodeau and his wife, Rachael, and Ashley Thibodeau; his great grand-daughter, Lucy Goldstein; his sister, Edith Thibodeau of Church Point and many nieces and nephews.

He was also a brother of the late Camille, David and Felix Thibodeau and Cecile LeBlanc.

Family and friends will honor and remember Adolphe's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Friday, October 14th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again on Saturday morning in Saint George's Church, 74 School Street, Framingham where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be private.
