Agnes R. Cady

Waltham – Mrs. Agnes R. (Lopes) Cady, of Waltham, died Wednesday, August 10, 2011 in Newton-Wellesley Hospital. She was 88.

Agnes was born in Fall River on September 25, 1922 a daughter of the late Manuel and Georgina (Livaremente) Lopes and had lived in Dorchester for many years before moving to Waltham in 1993. Prior to her marriage she had worked at Raytheon Corporation.

She loved her family, playing with grandchildren and great-grandchildren, hockey, dancing, gardening, bowling and movies.

Her husband of almost 60 years, Joseph C. Cady died March 17, 2009.

Agnes leaves her two daughters, Claire M. Kennedy of Newton and Bernadette Cady-Byczek of Brockton; her grandchildren, Debbie Rousseau Albanna of Waltham, Thomas Rousseau of Marlborough, Chris and Stacy Rousseau of Randolph, John and Tifany Kennedy of Maynard and Shayna (Kennedy) Marshal and her husband, Kevin, of Portmouth, New Hampshire; her great-grandchildren, Matthew and Andrew Albanna, Morgan, Nicole and Joel Rousseau, Noella and Isabella Kennedy and her “Angel” Paula Jacques of Worcester.

Family and friends will honor and remember Agnes’ life by gathering for calling hours at The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Monday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will be at 2:15 p.m. in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
