Milford – Mr. Alban J. Cormier, Jr. of Milford, formerly of Waltham, died Sunday, June 7, 2015 at Sunrise of Wayland. He was 84.
Al was born in Newton on October 15, 1930, a son of the late Alban J. and Elodie (Pellerin) Cormier. He was raised in Newton and graduated from Newton High School. He had been a Waltham resident for most of his life where he was a member of the French-American Victory Club. He moved to Milford in 1996.
During the Korean War Al served with the United States Army. He spent his career working at Fab-Braze Corporation in Waltham, starting out as a machinist and retiring as the company vice-president.
The husband of the late Florine M. (Arsenault) Cormier, he leaves his children, Ronald J. Cormier and his wife, Marion, of Gardner, Nancy M. Treem of Grafton and Richard J. Cormier and his wife, Nancy, of Wayland; his son-in-law, Robert Woodbury of Upton; his grandchildren, Ronald Cormier, Jr., Jason Cormier, Brian Cormier, Kyle Treem, Meghan Treem, Ashley Woodbury, Daniel Woodbury, Ariel Cormier, Rosalita Cormier, and Blase Cormier; his great-grandchildren, Lorena and Alicia Cormier; his brothers and sisters, Estelle Lahey of Hudson, Leonard Cormier of Florida, Normand Cormier of New Brunswick, and Eileen Carl of Oysterville, Washington and many nieces and nephews.
Al was also the father of the late Denise M. Woodbury and a brother of the late Aline Cormier, Gerard Cormier and Robert Cormier.
Family and friends will honor and remember Al's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Friday, June 12th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham, where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
