Albert J. Goguen

Medford – Mr. Albert J. Goguen, of Medford, died Saturday, October 4, 2008 in Neville Place, Cambridge. He was 91. Born and raised in Waltham, a son of the late Oliver and Zelia (Doucette) Goguen, he attended Saint Pierre's School and was a graduate of Waltham High School. From 1936 to 1941 Al served with the United States Army. Until his retirement eleven years ago he worked as a self-employed plumbing contractor. He had also been a member of the French-American Victory Club in Waltham. Al leaves his wife of 67 years, Hectorine L. 'Helen' (Leger) Goguen; his children, Barbara A. Corkery and her husband, Francis, of Hull and Janet L. Goguen and her husband, Brian Holmes, of Medford; 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Elaine S. Miller and Diane L. Carney and brother of the late Oswald Goguen, Rita Sampson, Alice Drinkwater and Clara Fox. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral at 9 a.m. Wednesday from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel of Saint Charles Borromeo Church, 51 Hall Street, Waltham at 10 a.m. Committal services will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Fl., Brookline, MA 02445.
