Watertown - Mr. Albert A. Macere of Watertown died Tuesday June 22, 2010 at the Life Care Center in Acton. He was 92.
Albert was born in Watertown on May 14, 1918, a son of the late Cosmo and Mary (Iannazzi) Macere and was a lifelong resident. He had worked for twenty-five years for the B.F. Goodrich Company and also as a building superintendent for Learning Prep in Newton for eighteen years until his retirement. Albert was a member of the Knights of Columbus # 167 in Waltham, Waltham Lodge of Elks # 953, the Sons of Italy in Watertown, and was also very active at the Watertown Senior Center. In his spare time he enjoyed playing the guitar, and enjoyed many different kinds of music and art.
He leaves his daughter, Carole M. Nason of Watertown, his grandchildren, Mark Nason and his wife, Therese Leboffe, Carolyn DiDuca and her husband, Robert, Amy Rego and her husband, Albert, and his great-grandchildren, Megan, Kristin, and Andrew DiDuca.
Albert was the husband of the late Vera V. (Bartashy) Macere and father-in-law of the late Alvah W. Nason.
Family and friends will honor and remember Albert’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street, (Rte.20), Waltham on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. and again at 8 a.m. on Friday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Patrick’s Church, 212 Main Street, Watertown where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Watertown.
