Salem, NH – Mr. Albert J. Squires of Salem, New Hampshire, died Monday, March 16, 2009 in his home. He was 73. Al was born in Chelsea on June 16, 1935, a son of the late Albert and Sophie (Penney) Squires, and had lived in Melrose before moving to Salem forty-three years ago. Until his retirement he worked for the W.R. Grace Company in Nashua and before that he was a supervisor for twenty-two years for the ITT Company in Lawrence. Al was also an avid sports fan. He leaves his wife, Marie E. (Quagliozzi) Squires; his son, James A. Squires and his wife, Debra, of West Roxbury; his step-children, Michael J. Nisbet and his wife, Jeanne, of Marlboro and Paula M. Hebebrand and her husband, Jon, of California; and his sister, Jean Dwyer of Medford. Al was also a loving grandfather of six and great-grandfather of three. Al was also the step-father of the late Kevin J. Nisbet. Family and friends will honor and remember Al's life by gathering for calling hours at The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. and again at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday morning for Al's funeral service.
