Waltham – Mr. Albion E. Huff, of Waltham, died Saturday, November 8, 2014 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He was 84.
Albion was born on November 12, 1929 in Bar Harbor, Maine, a son of the late Bertrand and Beatrice (Emery) Huff. After graduating from East Providence High School he joined the United States Air Force and served as a staff sergeant during the Korean War.
On August 31, 1957 he married Waltham native Barbara A. Lane in Saint Mary's Church and the couple made their home in Waltham where they raised their family and have been residents since. Until his retirement Al worked for the New England Telephone and Telegraph Company.
In addition to his wife of fifty-seven years, Barbara, he leaves his children, Susan M. Huff of Waltham, Nancy A. Huff of Marshfield, Ann Marie Huff, John Lawrence Huff and his wife, Annamarie, Patricia E. Huff, all of Waltham and Mark E. Huff and his wife, Julie Paris, of Colchester, Vermont; his grandchildren, Samantha, Victoria, Alexander, Abigail, Emily and Myles Huff; his longtime neighbors and adopted grandchildren, Kaitlyn Cullinane and Jeffrey and Kristen Gordon; his brother and sister, James A. Poole of Bradenton, Florida and Betty Beauregard of Sarasota, Florida and several nieces and nephews.
Al was also a brother of the late Barbara McCausland and Jeannine Blanchette.
Family and friends will honor and remember Al's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Tuesday, November 11th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 8 a.m. on Wednesday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Committal services will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
