Mr. Alex P. LeBlanc, of Waltham, died Sunday, December 14, 2008 at LifeCare Center of Merrimack Valley in Billerica. He was 107. Born in Moncton, New Brunswick, a son of the late Philippe N. and Vitaline (Robichaud) LeBlanc, Alex was raised in Moncton before moving to Waltham in 1962. Until his retirement at the age of 82, he worked for Black and Webster in Waltham. He had previously worked for an engineering firm in Boston that was involved in work related to the Moon Shuttle in the late 1960's. In New Brunswick, Alex had founded the Acadia Motor Coach bus line and Apex Tire Company. He leaves his children, Paul LeBlanc and his wife, Helena, of Moncton, Fr. Philippe LeBlanc, O.P. of Toronto, Edgar LeBlanc and his wife, Dorothy, of Moncton, John LeBlanc and his wife, Ruth, of Waltham, and Diane Quagliozzi and her husband, William, of Billerica, 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Alex was the husband of the late Anna (Robichaud) LeBlanc, father of the late Pauline Kirke and brother of the late Albert, Joseph, Lelice, Edgar, and Cecile Leblanc, and Elmire Metcalfe. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Thursday at 10 a.m. from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham, followed by a Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
