Alice F. Obin

Waltham - Mrs. Alice F. (Patriarca) Obin of Waltham, died Friday, March 29, 2013 in her home. She was 91. Mrs. Obin was born in Watertown on May 4, 1921, a daughter of the late Eltorio and Philomena (Croce) Patriarca.

Alice worked for Security Mills and the Raytheon Company until her retirement. She had lived in Watertown and Newton for most of her life before moving to Waltham five years ago. Alice loved music, ballroom dancing, and dog and horse races. She also enjoyed playing her accordian and piano. Westport was one of her favorite places to spend the summer.

Alice was wife of the late Edward Obin, the mother of the late Edward Obin, Jr., and the sister of the late Albert and James Patriarca.

She is survived by her daughter, Frances A. Champagne of Waltham; her grandchildren, Paul Champagne of Woburn, Lisa Bellows and her husband, Kenneth, of Chester NH, and Robert Champagne of Austin TX; and her great grandchildren, Ethan Bellows, Elyse Bellows, both of Chester NH, and Olivia Montemayor of Austin TX.

Family and friends will honor and remember Alice's life by gathering for calling hours on Wednesday, April 3rd, from 5-7 pm in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street, (Rte. 20), Waltham and again on Thursday where her Funeral Service will be held at 10 am. Burial will be private.
