Waltham – Mrs. Alma M. (Hache) Aucoin, of Waltham, died Sunday, May 15, 2022 at Carney Hospital in Dorchester. She was 87.
Alma was born in Rogersville, New Brunswick on March 24, 1935, a daughter of the late Alphonse and Philomene (Maillet) Hache. Raised in Rogersville and Moncton, she immigrated to the United States in 1970 and made Waltham her home.
She and her husband Clarence stayed close to their French Canadian roots as proud members of the French-American Victory Club and were faithful communicants of Saint Joseph's Church on Main Street. Alma also made many lifelong friends as part of the Saint Joseph's Ladies Guild.
In addition to her husband, Clarence Aucoin, she leaves her son, Edward P. Aucoin of Waltham, and her siblings, Marcel Hache of Edmonston, New Brunswick, Rita Bartlemen of Cocagne, New Brunswick, Ernest Hache of Valleyfield, Quebec, Isabelle Jones of Vaudreuil, Quebec, Gerard Hache of Dieppe, New Brunswick, Evelyn Hache-LaChance of Shediac, New Brunswick, Eva McGraw, of Moncton, New Brunswick, and Jean Guy Hache of Valleyfield, Quebec and many nieces, nephews, and their families.
Alma was also the mother of the late Carol A. Aucoin, and sister of the late Marie, Alderic, Gerald, and Edmond Hache.
Family and friends will honor and remember Alma's life by gathering to visit from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Monday morning, May 23rd, in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham before leaving in procession to Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
