Waltham – Mrs. Alma R. (Thibault) Lucas, of Waltham, died Friday, September 26, 2014 at Wingate at Needham. She was 92.
Alma was born in Cambridge on August 26, 1922, a daughter of the late Joseph and Ida (Baillargeon) Thibault, and graduated from Cambridge High and Latin School.
Until her retirement she worked for the Standard-Thomson Company of Waltham. Throughout her life Alma loved hosting family gatherings at her Waltham home and loved animals, especially her pet dog Becky and her cat, Boomer.
Alma was the beloved wife of the late Joseph E. Lucas; devoted mother of Cynthia D. Drinkwater and her husband, Paul, of Holbrook and Marilyn R. Carson of Easley, South Carolina and cherished grandmother of Melanie Levangie and her husband, Dana, Jennifer Turner, Matthew and Christopher Costa, Angela Devries and Danielle and Armando Carbone. In addition she leaves her great-grandchildren, Jonathan Levangie, Logan Fitzgerald and Trinity Torren and her sister, Doris Cooke of Chicago, Illinois.
She was also a sister of the late Roy Thibault, Armand "Bobby" Thibault and Loretta Judge.
Family and friends will honor and remember Alma's life by gathering to visit at 10 a.m. on Wednesday morning, October 1st in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham before leaving in procession to Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Grove Hill Cemetery, Waltham.
