Alma E. Pontz

Weston – Miss Alma E. Pontz, of Weston, formerly of Waltham, died Friday, January 11, 2013 in the Epoch Senior Living Center in Weston. She was 98.
Miss Pontz was born in Waltham on July 27, 1914, a daughter of the late Frank Jacob and Alma (Fasnacht) Pontz. Until her retirement she worked as an administrative assistant for twenty-one years for Digital Equipment Corporation. Alma had previously worked in the woolen industry in Boston for twenty-four years.
She also enjoyed gardening and all of the local teams, especially the Red Sox. She was a longtime member of Trinity Church in Waltham where she had done a great deal of volunteer work. Alma said, "When you've worked for over 45 years, keeping active is the only way to retire!".
Alma is survived by her nephew, Richard Pontz of Newton.
Family and friends will honor and remember Alma's life by gathering on Friday, January 18th, in Newton Cemetery Chapel, 791 Walnut Street, Newton where her funeral service will be held at 11 am.
