Waltham Mr. Alphonse V. Vitale, of Waltham, died Saturday, September 5, 2009 at the Bedford Veterans Administration Hospital. He was 84. Alphonse was born in South Boston on June 6, 1925, a son of the late Salvatore and Raimonda (Attardo) Vitale and had lived in Northridge, California for thirty one years before returning to Waltham in 1992. He worked for many years as a machinist for the George W. Moore Company of Waltham. A U.S. Navy veteran of W.W. II, he was a member of the U.S.S. Vincennes Association and the V.F. W. Post # 929 in Framingham. He leaves his wife, Marie R. (Giuliano) (Vinciullo) Vitale; his children, Alphonse V. Vitale, Jr., Ronald A. Vitale, and James P. Vitale all of California; his step-daughter, Jeanne M. Seaquist and her husband, David, of Waltham; one brother, Frank Vitale of Waltham; one sister, Mary Guisti of Dracut, eleven grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, two great-grandsons and many nieces and nephews. Alphonse was also the husband of the late Eleanor (Velardo) Vitale. Family and friends will honor and remember Alphonse's life by gathering for calling hours at The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will be held at Eternal Valley Memorial Park in Newhall, California.
