Watertown – Mr. Alvah W. Nason, of Watertown, died Thursday, October 2, 2008 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. He was 75. Born in Sanford, Maine, a son of the late Charles and Rufina (Hobbs) Nason, Alvah was the former owner and operator of A.W. Nason and Sons, Inc. in Watertown for over twenty years. He had lived in Watertown for more than forty-five years and was a former district commander for the United States Power Squandron. He was also a former trustee for the Elmwood Chapel in Wellesley. In his spare time he enjoyed photography, boating and dancing. During the Korean War, he served with the United States Army. Alvah leaves his wife of forty-seven years, Carole M. (Macere) Nason; his children, Mark Nason of Watertown, Carolyn DiDuca and her husband, Robert, of Milford and Amy Rego and her husband, Albert, of Bermuda; his grandchildren, Megan, Kristin, and Andrew; two sisters, Jacqueline Hutchins of Acton, Maine, and Betty Nason of Sanford, Maine and his father-in-law, Albert Macere of Watertown. He was also the son-in-law of the late Vera Macere. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Funeral Services at 10 a.m. Monday in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20) Waltham. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Watertown. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Elmwood Chapel, 42 Elmwood Road, Wellesley MA 02481.
