Waltham – Alycia D. Marcou, of Waltham, died Wednesday, August 21, 2013 in Portland, Maine. She was 25.
Alycia was born in Newton on June 16, 1988 and had been a lifelong Waltham resident. She graduated from Waltham High School and the Elizabeth Grady School.
At Waltham High Alycia was a member of the cheerleading team and the show choir. She had worked as a registered aesthetician and at her family's store, Marcou Jewelers, in the Meadow Glen Mall in Medford.
She leaves her parents, Randy L. and Nancy (Elicone) Marcou; her sister and brother, Monica S. Marcou of Quincy and Daniel J. Marcou of Waltham; her grandmother, Eleanor Elicone of Newton; her aunts and uncles, David and Donna Marcou of New Seabury, Mal and Tom Burke, Bob and Cheryl Marcou, Dick and Cheryl Marcou, all of Waltham, Steven and Kelli Marcou of Wilmington, Ken and Ramona Marcou, Sheila and Pete LeBlanc, all of Waltham, Doug and Andrea Marcou of Belmont, Kathy and Gerry Arseneau of Waltham, Jack and Jeanne Elicone of Newton, Elaine and Ed Stone of Lexington, Janet Elicone of Needham and Richard and Nora Elicone of Paxton; her godfather, Dave Noke of Plymouth and many cousins.
Alycia was also a granddaughter of the late John Elicone and Jack and Elinor Marcou.
Family and friends will honor and remember Alycia's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Sunday, August 25th, from 2 to 8 p.m. and again at 9:30 a.m. on Monday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady Help of Christians Church, 573 Washington Street, Newton where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
