Amadeo A. Greco

Waltham – Mr. Amadeo A. Greco of Waltham died Tuesday, November 22, 2005 at the Wingate Nursing Facility in Needham. He was 89. Born in Buffalo, New York, a son of the late Philip and Victoria (Bernini) Greco, he worked as a cook in the Slater Building and also as a bartender in the Fargo Building, both in the Charlestown Navy Yard for many years. He was a member of the Waltham Elks and the Watertown Sons of Italy. During World War II he served with the United States Navy. He was the husband of the late Michelina A. (DiGaetano) Greco. He is survived by his children, Patricia A. Brinson of Watertown, Amadeo A. Greco, Jr. and his wife Susan, of Portsmouth, New Hampshire and Michael J. Greco of Waltham; one sister, Rose Costa and one brother, Anthony Greco; three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The Funeral will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visiting hours are Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m.
