Andrew J. Donellon

Waltham - Mr. Andrew J. Donellon, of Waltham, formerly of Brighton, died Friday, October 19, 2007 at home. He was 83. He leaves his brothers, Paul A. Donellon of Arlington and John F. Donellon of Newtonville; many nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, James P. Donellon. Andrew was born February 15, 1924 in the Brighton section of Boston, a son of the late Andrew P. and Margaret M. (Daly) Donellon and lived most of his life in Brighton before moving to Waltham 10 years ago. He was a graduate of Boston College High School and attended Boston College. He was a United States Navy veteran, serving during World War II. He worked in production control for the Gillette Corporation in South Boston for over 30 years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of the Boston College High School Alumni Association, St. Jude’s Church and was an avid golfer. The Funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Jude Church 147 Main Street, Waltham at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Saint Joseph’s Cemetery, West Roxbury. Visiting hours will be held Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Office of Institutional Advancement, Boston College High School, 150 Morrissey Blvd, Boston, MA 02125.
