Angelina F. ‘Angie’ (Mula) Guidebeck, of Waltham, died Saturday, April 20, 2024, in Meadow Green Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was 90.
Angelina F. Mula was born October 9, 1933, in Waltham a daughter of the late Italian immigrants Louis and Carmela (Mirasola) Mula. Raised in Waltham she was a graduate of Waltham High School. She married Joseph G. Guidebeck on May 26, 1957 in Sacred Heart Church. His career with the United States Air Force meant living in various parts of the world including Japan and in when back in the States she lived in Maine and Michigan. However, regardless of how many miles she was from her much loved and native Waltham it always remained home. They also spent much of their time at their home on Cape Cod in Cotuit. She loved being nearby the ocean and beaches.
She worked as a hairdresser for many years at ‘Beautyville’ and later at ‘A New Image’ on Moody Street in Waltham.
Angie loved making her house a home and was happiest when family and friends were gathered at table for her delicious cooking. For her, family and friends were always remained the center of her life. She loved annual pilgrimages to Old Orchard Beach in Maine and the clambakes. Angie loved reading and movies as well.
In addition to her husband, Joseph, she was predeceased by her sisters, the late Rose Rigoli (late Carl) and Mary Buscemi (late Joseph).
She leaves her children, Diane M. Guidebeck of West Hyannisport, Joseph G. Guidebeck, Jr. (Deborah Heald) of North Reading and Thomas L. Guidebeck of Woburn; her grandchildren, Shaina and Krista Guidebeck, Daniel Guidebeck (Dr. Alia Robarts), Brianna and Matthew Guidebeck; her great-grandson, Charles ‘Charlie’ Guidebeck; her siblings, Louis Mula (Edgar Knudson) of Lexington, Florence Cornelssen (Ernest) of Mashpee; also survived by nieces & nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Angie’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham, on Wednesday, April 24th from 4 to 7 p.m. and again at 10 a.m. on Thursday morning before leaving in procession to Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham where her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery.
