Waltham - Mrs. Angelina L. (Basile) Previte, of Waltham, died Thursday, July 28, 2011 in Saint Elizabeth’s Hospital in Brighton. She was 97.
Angelina was born on September 10, 1913 in Lynn, a daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Carilli) Basile. She lived for more than 25 years in Belmont before moving to Waltham where she has lived for over 30 years.
Angelina’s life centered around her family and she was most happy when all were gathered together for her talented and noted cooking.
Her husband, Domenic A. Previte died March 25, 1976 and she was predeceased by her daughter, Rose A. Sliney and her siblings, Carmen D. Basile, Joseph O. Basile, Rose Cetrone and Mary Cannao.
She leaves her sons, Anthony D. Previte and his wife, Nance, of Boston, Joseph D. Previte and his wife, Joanne, of Boca Raton, Florida and Domenic A. Previte Jr. and his wife, Ann Marie, of Waltham; her siblings, Frank Basile of Idaho and Esther Saraceno of Watertown and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Angelina’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. and again at 8 a.m. on Monday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Burial will follow in Saint Patrick's Cemetery, Watertown.
