Ann T. Hegarty

West Newton – Miss Ann T. Hegarty, of West Newton, died Thursday, April 9, 2015 in Mount Auburn Hospital, Cambridge. She was 71.

Ann was born in Boston on October 1, 1943, a daughter of the late Daniel P. and Helen M. (Frazier) Hegarty and had lived in Brighton before moving to West Newton ten years ago. She was a graduate of Presentation High School in Brighton. She enjoyed watching sports, especially the Boston Red Sox and was an avid knitter and puzzle maker.

She leaves her sister, Mary L. Hegarty of West Newton and her sister-in-law, Anne A. Hegarty of Hunt Valley, Maryland.

Ann was a sister of the late Rev. Daniel P. Hegarty, Richard P. Hegarty, William J. Hegarty, and Helen M. Hegarty and the aunt of the late Jennifer A. Hegarty.

Family and friends will honor and remember Ann's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Monday, April 13th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 10 a.m. on Tuesday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Brighton.
