Waltham – Mrs. Ann C. Lai, of Waltham, died Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She was 78.
Ann was born in Chung Hwa, Taiwan on March 9, 1938 and immigrated to the United States in 1988, settling in New York. She came to live in Waltham three years ago.
She was educated in her native Taiwan where she earned her degree in education and worked there as an elementary school teacher. In Flushing, New York she founded the Tzu-Chi Chinese School.
Ann leaves her husband, Ko-Len Lai; her children, Jean Lai of Waltham, Rita Lai of Taiwan and John Lai of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; three grandchildren; siblings in Taiwan and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Ann's life by gathering for her funeral service at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 17th in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham.
