Ann M. Shedd

Waltham – Mrs. Ann M. (Lamorticelli) Shedd, of Waltham, died Thursday, November 25, 2010 at the Newton-Wellesley Alzheimer’s Center in Wellesley. She was 90.

Ann was born in Watertown on October 25, 1920, the oldest of eleven children born to the late James and Geni (Pantaleo) Lamorticelli. She had lived in Watertown before moving to Waltham more than sixty years ago and had worked for a number of years as a sales clerk at Grover Cronin’s department store on Moody Street in Waltham. Ann enjoyed traveling around the country with her late husband, Frank, and spending many happy summers with her family at their summer home in Plymouth. She loved to read and spent lots of time with her friends and family.

The wife of the late Frank E. Shedd, she leaves her children, Carol A. Livingston and her husband, Joseph, of Wilmington, Delaware, Janet M. Foley and her husband, John, of West Brookfield and Steven F. Shedd and his wife, Renee, of Plympton; her grandchildren, John Foley, Rhiannon Gresty, Meaghan Foley, Bryan and Craig Livingston, and Stacie and Spencer Shedd; her great-grandchildren, Camden and Harper Foley and Braden, Bryce, Claire, and Abigail Livingston; her brothers and sisters, Fiore Lamorticelli of Watertown, Paul Lamorticelli and Gilda Usher both of Newton, Frank Lamorticelli of Arlington, Dominic Lamorticelli and Mary James both of Stow, Josephine Spinney of Marlborough, and Jean Frazier of North Carolina and many nieces and nephews.

Ann was also a sister of the late Rose Johnson and Joseph Lamorticelli.

Family and friends will honor and remember Ann’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham on Tuesday, November 30th, from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday morning before leaving in procession to Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery, Lexington.
