Anna Cannistraro

Waltham – Miss Anna “Nina” Cannistraro, of Waltham, died Sunday, April 3, 2011 at Epoch of Chesnut Hill. She was 80.

Anna was born in Waltham on November 5, 1930, a daughter of the late Vincenzo and Angelina (Galluzzo) Cannistraro and had been a lifelong resident. Until her retirement she had worked for over fifty years at Eric’s Hairdressing Studio on Warren Street.

She leaves her sisters, Sally Foscaldo of Langhorn, Pennsylvania and Madeline Whalen and her husband, Charles, of Waltham; her brothers, John Cannistraro and his wife, Rita, of Newton and Vincent Cannistraro and his wife, Joan, of Dedham; her sister-in-law, Elaine Cannistraro of Raymond, New Hampshire and many nieces and nephews.

Anna was also a sister of the late Frank and Joseph Cannistraro.

Family and friends will honor and remember Anna’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Friday, April 8th, from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning before leaving in procession to Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
