Waltham – Mrs. Anna M. (Porcaro) DeMarco, of Waltham, died Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the Hebrew Rehabilitation Center in Roslindale. She was 86.
Anna was born in Englewood, New Jersey on May 10, 1929, the second oldest of thirteen children born to the late Aniello and Mary (Gaglione) Porcaro. She moved to Watertown with her family as a child.
On May 28, 1950 she married Watertown native Salvatore P. "Toto" "Sal" DeMarco and the couple made Watertown their home before moving to Waltham in 1965. Anna was a terrific wife and mother and the couple enjoyed sixty-four happy years together before Sal's death on April 13, 2014.
She leaves her children, Laura A. Osborne and her husband, Paul, of Dedham, Diane M. Abbott and her husband, Harvey, of Burlington, Stephen P. DeMarco of Waltham, Nancy L. Fletcher and her husband, Dave, of Natick and Robert T. DeMarco of Lincoln; her grandchildren, Lauren Abbott and Christian and Julia Fletcher; her sisters and brothers, Anthony Porcaro of Bethesda, Maryland, Aniello Porcaro, Jr. of Mashpee, Ralph Porcaro, Joseph Porcaro, Pauline Piselli and Sarah Mosca, all of Watertown, Antoinette "Toni" Nardone of Revere, Gloria Mooney of Hull, Mary Duffy of Natick and Lucy Jannoni of Belmont and many nieces and nephews.
Anna was also a sister of the late Rose Brandolino and Louise Porcaro.
Family and friends will honor and remember Anna's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Wednesday, March 2nd from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Thursday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m.
