Mrs. Anna F. Stanton, of Waltham, died on Tuesday, August 28, 2018, in the Oak Knoll Healthcare Center in Framingham with her family by her side. She was 96. Anna was born in Waltham on November 15, 1921, the daughter of the late Constantine and Anna (Doherty) Voymas. A lifelong Waltham resident, she was a graduate of Saint Charles High School in 1939.
Anna enjoyed old classic films, Broadway tunes, dancing and skiing, which she learned in her 40's and being a member of a bowling league at the Wal-Lex Bowling Center for many years. Anna loved watching the Red Sox but her true passion was her beloved Boston Bruins. She was also a very talented clothing and costume seamstress.
Anna was the beloved wife of the late Edward F. Stanton and is survived by her children, Jean P. Craig (Ronald) of Ashland, Christine M. Wheeler (Robert) of Framingham and Edward F. 'Ted' Stanton, Jr. (Dianne) of Upton; her brother, Donald Voymas of Sparta, North Carolina and also leaves 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Charles Voymas, Marion Smith, Barbara Voymas and Frances Voymas.
Family and friends will honor and remember Anna's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Monday, September 3rd from 5-8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Tuesday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
