Burlington – Mrs. Anne E. (Proudfoot) Barden, of Burlington, died Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at Billerica Crossing. She was 85.
Anne was born in Arlington on February 7, 1930, a daughter of the late Harold and Louise (Merritt) Proudfoot, and was a graduate of Saint Agnes High School in Arlington. Following her marriage to Waltham native Bernard L. Barden in 1953 the couple settled in Waltham where they raise their family. They summered in Humarock and moved there permanently in 1994 before their recent move to Burlington.
Anne always enjoyed caring for her husband and children and when the grandchildren came along it added a new and wonderful dimension to her life. Spending time and creating memories at the beach with family was precious. She will long be remembered by one of her favorite verses . . . "My heart will always be in a cottage by the sea".
In addition to her beloved husband of sixty-two years, Bernard, she leaves her children, Steven Barden of Humarock, Linda Hylander of Billerica and Pamela Clarke and her husband, Stephen, of Burlington; her grandchildren, Kerri Clarke Strouse and her husband, William, Stefanie Hylander, Derek Clarke, Kayla Clarke, Kaitlyn Clarke and Stephen D. Clarke, II; her great-granddaughter, Abigail Strouse and many nieces and nephews.
Anne was also the sister of the late Paul Proudfoot.
Family and friends will honor and remember Anne's life by gathering to visit at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning, August 22nd, in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham where her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
