Anne M. Bettano

Waltham – Mrs. Anne M. (Polito) Bettano died peacefully on Tuesday, December 10, 2013. She was 102.
Anne was born in Italy on February 4, 1911, a daughter of the late Louis and Constance Polito. She graduated from Notre Dame Academy in Tyngsborough and worked for many years at College Town Sportswear as a pattern designer, including custom designs for pocketbooks. She then went to work for CB Sports for over twenty years where she created designs for athletic canvas bags, some for professional teams.
She loved to read and sew and found cooking to be a life-long passion. One of her favorite pastimes was watching the Red Sox with her great-grandchildren, Cody and Cameron.
She was the wife of the late Roy J. Bettano.
She leaves her children, Charles Bettano and his wife, Carol, of Reading and Grace "Sissy" Gruber and her husband, Steve, of Waltham; her grandchildren, Lauren Eaton and Michelle Gruber Andriolo and her great-grandchildren Cody and Cameron.
She was also the sister of the late George and Joseph Polito.
Funeral Services will be private.
