Waltham - Mrs. Anne C. (MacNevin) Cooney, of Waltham, died Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at the Stanley Tippett House in Needham. She was 66. Anne was born in Sydney, Nova Scotia on January 21, 1943, a daughter of the late Eugene and Mary (O’Keefe) MacNevin and had lived in Waltham for the past fifty years. She had worked for five years as an executive administrator for Digital Equipment Corporation in Stow. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Paul F. Cooney; her son, Shaun N. Cooney of Plymouth; two brothers, Colin MacNevin and his wife, Linda, of Newton and Alec MacKenzie and his wife, Mitzie, of Newtonville; two sisters, Sharon Monahan and her husband, Robert, of Bellingham and Nina MacDougall and her husband, Duncan, of Waltham and many nieces and nephews. She was also a sister of the late Eugene MacNevin, Jane MacNevin, and step-daughter of the late Hector MacKenzie. Family and friends will honor and remember Anne’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and again at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will be private. Memorial donations may be made to the Stanley Tippett House, 920 South Street, Needham, MA 02492.
