Waltham – Anne Marie Duchatellier, of Waltham, died at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, August 22, 2017. She was 83.
Anne Marie was born in Haiti on May 21, 1934, a daughter of the late Guillaume Duchatellier and Pauline Degand. She worked as seamstress while living in her native Haiti and immigrated to the United States in 1962 and worked as a nurse in Brooklyn, New York. In 1970 she moved with her family to Waltham where she worked as a house manager at the Walter E. Fernald State School until her retirement. She was a wonderful wife and mother and was extremely close to all of her grandchildren.
She was the wife of the late Robert L. Williams and is survived by her children, Gary E. Coutard, Christina C. Coutard, both of Waltham, Diane Travers of Watertown and Chantal Didio of West Palm Beach, Florida; her siblings, Jacques Degand and Geraldine Didio; eighteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Arnold Duchatellier, Yvonne Sylvestre and Yolanda Duchatellier
Family and friends will honor and remember Anne Marie's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Sunday, August 27th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9:30 a.m. on Monday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be private.
