Waltham – Mrs. Anne K. (McDevitt) Fay, of Waltham, formerly of Brighton, died Tuesday, July 19, 2022 in Advinia Care in Wilmington. She was 85.
Anne was born in Cambridge on November 24, 1936, a daughter of Ireland natives, the late Charles and Margaret (Geoghegan) McDevitt. Raised in Brighton she was a 1954 graduate of Our Lady of the Presentation Academy. Anne married fellow Brighton native, William J. Fay on October 11, 1958. The pair moved to Waltham in 1963 and had been residents ever since. They were faithful communicants of Saint Jude Parish on Main Street.
She was a devoted wife and mother had taken wonderful care of her home and family, and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Anne is reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, William Fay, who died April 3, 2012, and her siblings, the late Mary Caulfield, and John, Charles, Thomas, and James McDevitt.
She was the mother of Robert J. Fay and his wife, Susan, of Waltham; loving 'Nana' of Brendan and Connor Fay; sister of Eileen Corcoran of Brighton and Robert McDevitt of Billerica. Anne also leaves several nieces, nephews, and their families.
Family and friends will honor and remember Anne's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham, on Tuesday, July 26th from 4 to 7 p.m. and again at 10 a.m. on Wednesday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Saint Patrick's Cemetery, Watertown.
The family kindly asks that masks be worn while attending funeral services.
