Mrs. Anne M. (Doherty) McHugh, formerly of Framingham and Waltham, died Monday, June 16, 2008 in Newton–Wellesley Hospital. She was 90. Anne was born April 19, 1918 in Waltham a daughter of the late Bernard and Mary (Fahy) Doherty. She lived many years in Waltham and in Framingham before moving to Little Rock, Arkansas in 1998 and later to Columbia, South Carolina in 2006. She was a graduate of Saint Mary's High School in Waltham. She was the mother of the late Anne Marie Johnson and sister of the late William, John, Winifred Doherty and Mary Dodson. She leaves her husband of 68 years, Robert M. McHugh, Sr.; a son, Robert M. McHugh Jr., both of Columbia, South Carolina; a sister, Theresa M. McGrath of Waltham; three brothers, Bernard Doherty and his wife, Marguerite, Francis Doherty and his wife, Jean, both of Waltham and Joseph Doherty and his wife, Pauline, of West Newton; a son-in-law, Joel Johnson of Little Rock, Arkansas; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral at 8 a.m. Tuesday from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Charles Borromeo Church, 51 Hall Street, Waltham at 9 a.m. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 31 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
