Anne (Georgaqui) Sawtelle

Waltham – Mrs. Anne (Georgaqui) Sawtelle, of Waltham, died Friday, January 18, 2019 at her home. She was 88.

Anne was born in Boston on September 20, 1930, a daughter of the late John and Angelina (Kostandin) Georgaqui. She was raised in Boston's West End and had been a member of Saint George's Albanian Orthodox Church in South Boston.

Following her marriage to Joseph P. Sawtelle the couple moved to Belmont and then to Waltham fifty-three years ago where they became lifelong residents.

Her husband, Joe, died seventeen years ago and Anne was also the mother of the late Nancy Sawtelle and sister of the late Thomas 'Russ' Georgaqui, Mary Mucci and Virginia Georgaqui.

She leaves her children, Joseph Sawtelle, Jayne Albano (Benigno), all of Waltham and John Sawtelle (Shannon Kelly) of Palm Springs, California; her grandchildren, Sierra Kehn (Stephen) and Jasmine and Lily Sawtelle, her great-grandson, Everett Kehn; her brother and sister, William Georgaqui and Helen Georgaqui, both of Boston and many nieces, nephews, and their families.

Family and friends will honor and remember Anne's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Wednesday, January 23rd from 5 to 8 p.m. and again on Thursday when her funeral service will be held at 12 noon. Burial will be in Newton Cemetery.
