Waltham – Mrs. Anne F. (McCarthy) Wiley, of Waltham, died Wednesday, October 28, 2015 in Maristhill Nursing Home. She was 96.
Anne was born in Boston on April 14, 1919, a daughter of the late Francis and Catherine (Brennan) McCarthy. Raised and educated in Boston she lived many years in Sudbury before moving to Waltham in 1979.
Until her retirement she worked as a secretary for more than thirty-five years at Liberty Mutual Insurance Company. Her interests included knitting, reading, playing keyboard and baking.
She leaves her children, Carole A. Willey of Manchester, New Hampshire, Eleanor J. Fernandez of Plymouth, Raymond P. Wiley and his wife, Sandra of Watertown and Laura A. Carlozzi and her husband, Paul of Waltham; her brother, Rev. Raymond McCarthy of Brooklyn, New York; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Anne was predeceased by her son, Robert A. Wiley who died in 2004 and her sons-in-law, Paul Willey and Jonathan Fernandez.
Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Anne's life on Wednesday, November 4th in Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial is private. There are no calling hours.
