Rev. Anthony R. Parcheski, C.S.S., of Waltham, died Wednesday, March 29, 2006 in the Deaconess Rivercrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Concord. He was 87.
Born in Medway, Father Parcheski attended the Medway Public School System, the Stigmatine Minor and Major Seminaries, and studied at Fordham University. He entered the Stigmatine Community at Waltham on September 21, 1938. He professed his first vows on September 9, 1940 and his final profession on September 9, 1943. Father was ordained to the Holy Priesthood at Saint Paul Church, Wellesley, on June 12, 1948.
During his ministry, he was prefect of both the high school and college students, assistant novice master, and teacher at Stepinac High School in White Plains, New York. Father Parcheski served in the following parishes: Sacred Heart in Waltham, Sacred Heart of Jesus in Milford, All Saints in Manassas, Virginia, Saint Ann in West Springfield, Saint Elizabeth in Pompano Beach, Florida and the Stigmatine Information Center in Sault Ste. Marie, Canada. Father Parcheski retired to Saint Joseph Hall in Waltham in 1996.
Father Parcheski was the son of the late Joseph and Frances (Poreda) Parcheski and the brother of the late Stella MacDonald, Constance Butters, Emily Pearson, and Frank, Josephine, Felix, Joseph, and Adam Parchesky. He is survived by his sisters-in-law, Helen Parchesky of Medway and Julie Parchesky of Franklin, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 9:00 to 10:15 a.m. in The Espousal Center Chapel, 554 Lexington Street, Waltham. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am. Burial will be at 1:15 pm in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Milford.
