Newton Mr. Antonio Nicolazzo, of Newton, died Tuesday, December 11, 2007 in his home. He was 93. Born in Nicastro, Calabria, Italy, Mr. Nicolazzo he had lived in Waban, Hyannis, and West Palm Beach, Florida. He was the owner of the Boston Gardening Company in Waban and had worked for the City of Newton until his retirement. Mr. Nicolazzo was a member of the Newton Yacht Club and the Moose Lodge of West Palm Beach, Florida. He was the president of the Pirates Cove Association of Mashpee as well as a trustee of the Condominium Trust Association of his present residence. Mr. Nicolazzo loved gardening, bowling, bocci, golfing and walking. Mr. Nicolazzo was the son of the late Michaelangelo and Maria (Artemisa) Nicolazzo and the brother of the late Frank Nicolazzo. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Josephine M. (Paladino) Nicolazzo; his children, Antonio M. Nicolazzo of Connecticut, Richard Nicolazzo of New Hampshire, Mary Nicolazzo of Newton Centre, and Shirley Ann Faucher of Connecticut; his grandchildren, Adam Nicolazzo of New York, Zachary Nicolazzo of Arizona and Michael Nicolazzo of Connecticut; his sisters, Mary Cupoli of Newton, Jennie Albano of Maine, Rose Willis of California, and Carol Oliveri of Waltham; and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Saturday at 9:30 a.m. from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham, followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Bernards Church 1529 Washington Street, West Newton at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Newton Cemetery.
