Waltham – Mr. Arthur C. Bergeron, Sr., of Waltham, died Wednesday, September 4, 2013 in the Reservoir Nursing Home in Marlborough. He was 93.
Arthur was born in Waltham on July 30, 1920 and had been a lifelong resident. During World War II he served with the United States Army in Europe.
He was a truck driver for the Raytheon Company for thirty years and after that worked as a crossing guard in Waltham for sixteen years until his retirement in 2002. Arthur and his late wife, Marie C. (Aucoin) Bergeron, were lifelong members of Saint Joseph's Church in Waltham where they belonged to the parish Couples Club and bowling league.
He is survived by his children, Arthur C. "Buddy" Bergeron, Jr. and his wife, Kathleen, of Waltham, Donna M. Stearns and her husband, Brian, of Northborough, Mark J. Bergeron and his former wife, Elaine, of Burlington and Thomas M. Bergeron and his wife, Donna, of Marlborough; ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Arthur was also the brother of the late Paul Bergeron and Millie Kelly.
Family and friends will honor and remember Arthur's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Sunday, September 8th, from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Monday morning before leaving in procession to Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham, where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
