Mr. Arthur O. Duquette, Of Waltham, died Monday, January 10, 2011 in Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford. He was 84.
Mr. Duquette was born July 27, 1926 in Leicester son of the late Wilfrid A. and Rose Marie (Forgit) Duquette and was a resident of Waltham for over 60 years. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II.
Arthur worked as a machinist for Ark-Les Switch Corporation in Watertown for over 46 years before retiring in 1993.
He was an avid fisherman whose favorite fishing hole was at the Sudbury River in Cochituate. He and his wife were also enthusiastic dancers who frequented the French Club on Saturday nights regularly. Arthur was the first to be on the dance floor and the last to leave.
Arthur was the father of the late Daniel J. LeBlanc.
He leaves his wife, M. Leona (Ivy) Duquette; his children, David Duquette of Waltham, John Duquette of Berlin, NH, Brian Duquette of Attleboro, Mark Duquette of Plymouth, Thomas W. LeBlanc and his wife, Terry, of New London, NH, Denise M. Gallagher of Kennebunk, ME and Nanette Wojtaszek and her husband, Kenny, of Charleston, SC; his siblings, Robert Duquette of Watertown , Joseph Duquette of Wisconsin and Annette Maher of Watertown. Also survived by seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Arthur’s life by gathering for calling hours on Thursday from 9:30 a.m.to 10:30 a.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham before going in procession to Saint Mary’s Church, 133 School Street, Waltham where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will be private.
