Waltham - Mr. Arthur J. Nally Sr. died Monday, November 26, 2018 in Watertown Health Center. He was 87.
Born on November 18, 1931 in Newton he was a son of the late Edward and Catherine (Burenheide) Nally. He graduated from the former Our Lady's High School in Newton and on September 10, 1955 he married Waltham native Sylvia M. Littlefield in her parish Church of Saint Mary and they remained Waltham residents since.
Arthur owned and operated Waverly Oaks Construction Company since 1981. He was also a member of the Local 151 Construction Workers Union.
Arthur enjoyed anything that took him outdoors. He loved working around his house, building the large stone wall around its property, working in his gardens and watching the many birds that frequented his yard. He also loved clamming on Cape Cod as well as fishing.
In addition to his wife of 63 years, Sylvia he leaves their children, Arthur J. Nally Jr. (Maureen) of Franklin, Douglas W. Nally of Lunenburg, Melinda M. Nally of Waltham, Lauren P. Carlson (Roy) of Marlborough and Steven P. Nally of Medway; grandfather of Michelle Sullivan (James), Danielle Carlson, Christopher Nally and Melissa Harrigan (Christopher); brother of the late Edward J., Kenneth F. and William L. Nally; also survived by nieces & nephews;
Family and friends will honor and remember Arthur's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Sunday, December 2nd from 2 to 5 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Monday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
