Audrey M. Boyd

Weston - Miss Audrey M. Boyd, Of Weston, formerly of Waltham, died Thursday, June 17, 2010 in the Miriam Boyd Parlin Residence in Wayland. She was 79.

Audrey was born in Newton on February 8, 1931, a daughter of the late Harold T. Boyd, Sr. and Lauretta C. (Powers) Boyd. She was raised in Newton and was a graduate of Newton High School. Audrey was a longtime Waltham resident before moving to Weston in 2002.

She worked as a bookkeeper for 45 years in the accounting department of the Sherman Paper Company before retiring in 1994.

She was a member of St. Julia’s Church and very active with the Weston Council of Aging. Audrey was a good neighbor to all her friends and residents at the Brook School Apartment Community in Weston. A lover of animals, she had a special affinity for her neighbor’s dog ‘Addie’.

She was predeceased by her brothers, Harold T. Boyd, Jr. and Paul P. Boyd.

She leaves nieces and nephews including, John Boyd of Waterbury, VT, Harold ‘Hal’ Boyd of Stowe, VT, Daniel Boyd and his wife, Maryann, of Bristol, VT, Maura Boyd-Eaton and her husband, Lyndon ‘Butch’ Eaton of Napanoch, NY and Robert Boyd and his wife, Andrea, of Waltham; 4 great nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Michael, Daniel and John Boyd.

Family and friends will honor and remember Audrey’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Monday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Julia’s Church, 374 Boston Post Road, Weston where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
