Waltham Mr. Augustine A. Creonte of Waltham died Wednesday, August 20, 2003 at Belmont Manor Nursing Home. He was 88. A son of the late Carmine and Christina (DeSisto) Creonte, he was a lifelong resident of Waltham. Until his retirement he worked as a machinist for the B.C. Ames Company and J.L. Thompson Company, both in Waltham. He was an avid bowler and belonged to several leagues in Waltham and he had been a former member of the Waltham Elks, Dante Aligheri Lodge No. 648, Waltham Sons of Italy and Saint Marys Holy Name Society. He leaves his wife, Edith G. (Maniace) Creonte; two children, Augustine A. Creonte, Jr. and his wife Patricia of Troy, Illinois and Patricia A. Fitzgerald of Waltham; 3 brothers, Dominic Creonte of Harwich, Anthony Creonte of Bedford, NH, and William Creonte, Sr. of Waltham; 2 sisters, Natalie Durkin and Santina Lombardi both of Waltham; 8 granchildren, Pattie Fitzgerald, John Fitzgerald Jr., Michael Fitzgerald, David Fitzgerald, Augustine A. Creonte III, Robert Creonte, Mark Creonte and Cherie Creonte; 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was also the husband of the late Louise (Wordell) Creonte, father-in-law of the late John Fitzgerald and a brother of the late Michael Creonte. The Funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
