Baochun Wang

Professor Baochun Wang, 87, of Newton, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Friday, October 4 2024.

Baochun was born on March 4, 1937, in Jiang Su, China. He met the love of his life Guohua Jin in their preteen years, they were inseparable ever since. 

After graduating with a degree in Engineering in 1960, he started working in the Northeastern Electric Power University as a teaching assistant. During 38 years of his career, he submitted numerous patents, designed high efficiency power generation equipment with national awards, and educated hundreds of students who now are the backbone of the Chinese power industry. 

In 1998, Baochun and his wife retired and immigrated to North America to be with family. He spent his time exercising rigorously, woodworking, gardening, and traveling with family.

He is survived by his wife Guohua Jin, daughters Yiping, Jianping, Xiang and 5 grandchildren.

As per Baochun’s request, no funeral or memorial service will be held at this time.

 汪保春教授于2024年10月4日在美国麻州牛顿市家中逝世，享年87岁。

1937年农历3月4日出生于江苏省常州市，1960年毕业于西安交通大学，响应政府支边号召前往东北电力大学任教近40年直到退休。其间教育出一批又一批电力系统优秀的中坚；研究成果取得多项国家专利；并在世界级会议发表学术文章。是被授予国务院津贴的专家。

对工作:他充满激情,工作勤恳,任劳任怨,大公无私。

对学生: 他教书育人,充满爱心,爱生如子,德艺双馨。

对朋友:他真诚善良,平易近人,谦虚谨慎,乐于助人。

对妻女:他饱含深情,寸草春晖,舔犊情深,相敬如宾。

遵照汪保春教授的遗嘱，丧事从简，不举办追悼会。

妻：金国华， 女儿：汪怡平，汪建平，汪翔 哀告
