Framingham – Mrs. Barbara J. (Gosselin) Collins, of Framingham, formerly of Waltham, died Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Avita of Needham. She was 84.
Barbara was born in Waltham on April 9, 1931, a daughter of the late Charles and Alice (Murphy) Gosselin. In 1954 she married Waltham native Philip W. Collins and the couple made Waltham their home before moving to Framingham in 1963. The pair enjoyed fifty-seven happy years before Phil's death on June 19, 2011.
Until her retirement Barbara worked as an executive secretary at Food Enterprises of Canton.
She leaves her brothers and sister, Charles Gosselin and his wife, Terri, of Calgary, Alberta, Gloria Passarini and her husband, John, of Lexington and John Gosselin and his wife, Debbie, of Franklin; several nieces and nephews and their families, and her dear friends, Joseph LaRosa and family of Waltham.
Barbara was also the sister of the late Shirley Ramsey.
Family and friends will honor and remember Barbara's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Tuesday, March 1st from 5 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
