Waltham - Barbara J. Dufromont died Sunday, December 23, 2018 in Newton-Wellesley Hospital after an illness. She was 84.
Barbara was born November 30, 1934 in North Anson, Maine a daughter of the late Ivan K. and Eunice (Moulton) Spencer. Raised and educated in Maine she moved to Massachusetts after high school graduation. She was married to Robert J. Dufromont until his death on April 12, 1988.
She worked for Raytheon Corporation for over 42 years before retiring.
An avid bowler Barbara played in many leagues including a league at the Wal-Lex Bowling Center in Waltham.
Barbara leaves her daughters, Cheryl D. Perry (Thomas) of Groton and Karen S. Scanlon (James) of Waltham; her grandchildren, Robert, Brittany and Emily Perry, Autumn and Amber Scanlon; her brother, Ivan K. Spencer Jr. (Marilyn) of Florida; her in-laws, Gerard Dufromont (Kathleen) of Waltham, Eddie Dufromont (Frannie) of Chelmsford, Dolores Manory (George) of Utah and Marion Baxter; and nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Barbara's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Thursday, December 27th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again on Friday morning where her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Burial in Mount Feake Cemetery is private.
Memorials in her name to the Mount Auburn Hospital, Cardiac Care Unit, in c/o Development Office, 330 Mount Auburn Street, Cambridge, MA 02138.
