Mrs. Barbara E. (Lambe) Fagan, of Waltham, died Wednesday, September 19, 2012 in the Hebrew Rehabilitation Center in Boston. She was 85.
Barbara was born on September 27, 1926 in Boston, a daughter of the late Joseph E. and Alice M. (Dutton) Lambe. Raised in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Boston, she was a graduate of Hyde Park High School. Barbara married Thomas J. Fagan on June 28, 1947, and they lived in Brighton for over 50 years before she moved to Waltham in 2003.
Her interests included cake decorating and taught this art at the Jeremiah Burke School for many years.
She was also talented with needle and thread, and loved to sew. Accomplished with this art, she took pride in having made her own wedding gown and dresses for each of her daughters' various occasions including each of their proms. She also enjoyed bowling and, in earlier years, roller skating. She was a former member of Saint Anthony's Church in Allston, where she was a member of its Ladies Guild.
Her husband, Thomas J. Fagan, died September 1, 1985.
She leaves her children, Kevin T. Fagan and his wife, Mary, of Norwood, Patricia E. Pacetti and her husband, John, of Waltham, Doreen F. Collins and her husband, John, of Sumter, South Carolina and Colleen M. Fagan and her fiancé, Michael Medina of Waltham; her granddaughters, Kristine M. Trautsch and her husband, Michael, Katie R. Player and her husband, Chance, and Kelly E. Collins; her great-granddaughter, Anna Claire Trautsch, and nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Barbara's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Sunday, September 23rd from 2 to 5 p.m. and again at 8:00 a.m. on Monday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Luke's Church, 132 Lexington Street, Belmont, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
