Barbara Jean Gallagher

Waltham – Miss Barbara Jean Gallagher, of Waltham, died on Monday, April 18, 2016 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. She was 53.

Barbara was born in Boston on September 4, 1962 to Gerald "Jerry" and Martha A. (Meade) Gallagher, of Waltham. She was raised in Waltham was a graduate of Waltham High School.

Barbara lived in Malden for many years and had been a resident of Waltham since 2004.

Barbara found much joy in the arts, especially painting and music. She attended classes at Mass College of Art and Bryant School. She also had an avid interest in progressive politics. Barbara was known for her great sense of humor and her ability to see many obstacles in a humorous way.

In addition to her parents, Barbara leaves many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Barbara was predeceased by her sister, Dorothy "Dot" Gallagher.

Family and friends will honor Barbara's life by gathering to visit on Saturday, April 23rd at 10 a.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham where her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
