Barbara A. Hapenney

Centerville – Mrs. Barbara A. (Rooney) Hapenney of Centerville died Monday, November 1, 2004 in her home. She was 70. Mrs. Hapenney was born and had lived in Waltham for many years until moving to Centerville sixteen years ago. She had worked for many years as a medical secretary. Mrs. Hapenney was the president of the Ladies Guild of Our Lady of Victory Church in Centerville where she also did volunteer work. She was a member of the Garden Club of Osterville and the Barnstable Newcomers. Mrs. Hapenney spent winters in Delray Beach, Florida. She was the wife of the late Thomas F. Hapenney, Jr.; the daughter of the late Edward and Mary Irene (Marcoux) Rooney; and the sister of the late Patricia Bannon. Mrs. Hapenney is survived by her son, Thomas J. Hapenney and his wife Marilyn, of Medfield; her grandchildren, Keith T., Brian J. and Jill K. Hapenney; her sisters, Eunice Mahoney of South Carolina and Joan Schedick of California; and many nieces and nephews including Kathy Grant of Houston, Texas. Visiting hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham and also on Friday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Victory Church, 230 South Main Street, Centerville where a Funeral Mass will be offered at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne Monday morning at 10:30 a.m.
