Waltham – Mrs. Barbara E. (Hansen) Kelley, of Wareham, formerly of Waltham, died Tuesday, June 16, 2015 in her home. She was 87.
Barbara was born in Waltham on November 9, 1927, a daughter of the late Walter and Mary (Ormond) Hansen. She had lived for most of her life in Waltham before moving to Wareham ten years ago.
She was a graduate of Saint Mary's High School in Waltham and worked as a service order writer for the New England Telephone Company until her retirement. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and arts and crafts.
Barbara was the wife of the late Arthur L. Kelley; sister of the late Walter Hansen, Esther Durkin, Donald Hansen, Dorothy Eckman, Arthur Hansen, Eleanor McGuire and Ann Bareiszis and mother-in-law of the late Winnie (Bole) Kelley.
She leaves her children, John A. Kelley and his wife, Gayle, of Medway, Robert M. Kelley of Lakewood Ohio, Kevin L. Kelley and his wife, Martha, of Bath, Maine, Jane M. Kelley of Wareham, Mark R. Kelley and his wife, Carole, of Framingham, Paul H. Kelley of Framingham, and Barbara A. Malloy and her husband, Lawrence, of Waltham; her sister, Janet McQueeney of Natick; eighteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Barbara's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Friday, June 19th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
